What this page is for

What this page is for: a job estimate / price estimate you send before labor begins. The PDF title is ESTIMATE. The extra date is “Valid until.” Default notes: Estimate valid for 30 days.

How to make an estimate

List the work you think you will do, quantities, and unit prices. Add tax if you collect it. Set Valid until so the price does not float forever. Preview the HTML, then Download PDF. You are not pulling prices from a city remodeling database — the numbers are yours.

What an estimate includes

From and To, an EST- number, issue date, a validity date, line items, optional tax and discount, and a short validity sentence. It does not mark the job as billed. When the work is finished and you need a due date, switch to Invoice Generator.

Is this a home remodeling cost calculator?

No. You type your own line items; this is not a home-remodeling cost calculator. Estimate Maker does not look up zip-code material prices or contractor rates for kitchens and baths.

How is a job estimate different from an invoice?

An estimate is a price before work, with a validity period. An invoice is a bill after work, with a due date. Mixing them confuses clients about whether they already owe money.

Can you file this estimate with anyone or advise on tax?

No. We don't file taxes, send the document, or give legal/tax advice. You export the PDF. Not tax or accounting software.

Do you store the estimate I am typing?

On the free tool the draft stays in this browser. We do not build a public gallery of other people's jobs. Daily download caps apply per IP so a script cannot drain the generator.

Is the PDF branded?

Yes on the free path: a short “Made with billtopdf.com” line. That is not a paywall on the download itself. You still get the estimate PDF without an account.
